Summary

Steps on connecting an external signaling device such as a chime or bell to an AX master station.

Solution

Follow the diagram below using the 6-pin connector included with the AX master station.
Step 1
Connect Brown (V+) and Red (V-) to standard coax monitor / DVR input. The maximum wire run is 5’. Output is 1Vp-p, 75 Ω.
Step 2
Connect the Orange and Yellow wires to either an IER-2 chime extension speaker or the White and Blue wires on the RY-ES relay for external device signaling.
Step 3
Connect the Green and Blue wires to any normally open dry contact device, to be used in place of the talk button on the master. Contact device should be no more than 50’ from the master. Summary

The Viking K-1900-5 is used for the CO Line Transfer mode, transferring a door station call to a programmed telephone number. With communication established on the phone line, the Viking RC-2A allows the telephone to trigger a single door release contact.

Wiring Diagram

Max. distance from each door station to AX CEU is 980 feet with CAT-5e/6. Max. distance from each master station to AX exchange is 980 feet with CAT-5e/6.   [mkb-tip]When programming the K-1900-5, depress *02 after the access code to allow use of the RC-2A. The default access code for the K-1900-5 is 845464 (V-I-K-I-N-G).[/mkb-tip] [mkb-tip]The RC-2A will only provide one door release contact. For multiple contacts, up to three Viking RC-3 adaptors can be used for three contacts each, for a total of nine selective contacts.[/mkb-tip] [post_title] => AX Series with Viking K-1900-5 and RC-2A for CO Line Transfer and Door Release [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => open [ping_status] => open [post_password] => [post_name] => ax-series-with-viking-k-1900-5-and-rc-2a-for-co-line-transfer-and-door-release [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2025-04-30 07:49:58 [post_modified_gmt] => 2025-04-30 14:49:58 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://aiphone.local/kb/ax-series-with-viking-k-1900-5-and-rc-2a-for-co-line-transfer-and-door-release/ [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => kb [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) ) [post_count] => 2 [current_post] => -1 [before_loop] => 1 [in_the_loop] => [post] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 36860 [post_author] => 23 [post_date] => 2021-06-16 17:24:00 [post_date_gmt] => 2021-06-17 00:24:00 [post_content] =>

AX Series Open Collector Output

Summary

The AX-084C and AX-248C have open collector outputs to trigger a recording device when there is a video signal present on the V1 and V2 video outputs. The open collector outputs labeled VCH1 and VCH2 can be used in conjunction with the RY-24L relay. The diagram below shows this connection. If the recording device supports an open collector trigger, then the RY-24L is not required. The video signal on V1 and V2 are not full-time and correspond to the talkpath used. (If door station is using audio talkpath 1, video will be present on V1. When using audio talkpath 2, video will be on V2. User cannot select which talkpath is used.) Even in a single master system, both V1 and V2 will be used.
